Fine Art Commissions
Works Created by Commission
Alyssa Denise accepts a limited number of private and professional fine art commissions for original works developed in response to an individual subject, place, object or idea.
Each commission is approached as an independent work of art, developed through conversation, research and a considered process of design and making. Rather than reproducing an established composition, commissions provide an opportunity to create a work with its own visual language and particular relationship to its commissioner.
Commissions may range from intimate works on paper to substantial statement pieces and works conceived for specific architectural settings.

The Commissioning Process
I. Enquiry
Each commission begins with an initial enquiry outlining the proposed work, its intended setting and any ideas, subjects or references that may inform it.
II. Consultation
A consultation provides an opportunity to discuss the commission in greater depth, including its subject, conceptual direction, scale, medium, presentation and intended location.
Where appropriate, photographs, architectural drawings, personal material or other references may be considered at this stage.
III. Proposal
Following consultation, a commission proposal is prepared establishing the proposed direction of the work, approximate dimensions, medium, anticipated timescale and fee.
For more complex commissions, preliminary studies or compositional proposals may form part of this process.
IV. Development
The work is developed through research, drawing and making according to the nature of the commission.
The degree of consultation during this stage is agreed beforehand. While the commission responds closely to the initial brief, sufficient artistic independence is retained for the work to develop as an original piece.
V. Completion
Once complete, the work is prepared for collection or delivery. Where appropriate, framing, specialist presentation, or installation may also be arranged.
Original commissioned works are accompanied by documentation recording the work, its materials and date of completion.
Commission Enquiries
Commission fees are determined individually according to the scale, medium, complexity, research requirements and anticipated duration of the work.
To discuss a prospective commission, please submit an initial enquiry outlining the work you have in mind. No fully resolved proposal is required at this stage. The commissioning process may begin with a subject, place, object or simply an idea to be explored.

Commission Types
Original Fine Art
Bespoke original works developed around a subject, narrative or concept of particular significance to the commissioner.
The nature of each work is established individually, allowing its composition, medium, scale and degree of abstraction to emerge from the commission itself.
Architectural & Place
Original works responding to buildings, landscapes, and places of personal, historical, or architectural significance.
These commissions may interpret a particular house, institution, city, or landscape through drawing, painting, or a more conceptual study of its architecture and atmosphere.
Personal & Commemorative Works
Works created to mark a person, memory, event or significant period of life without necessarily relying upon conventional portraiture.
Personal references may be incorporated through architecture, objects, symbolism, landscape and other elements, allowing the resulting work to retain meaning while existing independently as a piece of fine art.
Objects & Instruments
Original artwork conceived in direct relationship with a physical object.
This strand of the practice includes the development of artwork for musical instruments and other exceptional objects, where the form, material and purpose of the object become part of the composition itself.
Bespoke Works for Interiors
Original works commissioned for a particular architectural or interior setting.
Scale, orientation, palette, material and viewing distance may be considered in relation to the space while preserving the artistic independence of the work. This service is particularly suited to significant residential interiors, hospitality spaces and carefully curated professional environments.
